Brief History of Bible Students Fellowship of Bangladesh (BSFB)

  • 1969 to 1974 UESI Kolkatta Staff Worker Mr. Narayan Mitra visited Bangladesh in several times and ministered to students and established Bible study groups at students hostel and held the two days first Camp in 1974

  • 1975 IFES sent Rev. Robert Francil Cutler (Bob) in Bangladesh to establish student’s ministry and with the help of Australian Baptist Missionary staff Miss. Rosalind Gooden we had opportunity to meet the women Bible study group at Jahanara Garden. Rev Bob Cutler visited Mymensingh student’s group lead by Michael Mihir Sarker and Miss Grace Dodge.

  • 1976 Students groups were established in various towns. Various camps were held in various places.

  • 1977 National camp was held at Notore Dame College in Dhaka.

  • 1980 National camp was held in Rajshashi.

  • 1982 Mr. Michael Mihir Sarker appointed as our first National staff worker.

  • 1986 Mr. Peter D. Mazumder joined as second National staff worker.

  • 1987 Committee Members Training Camp (CMTC) started. Mr. Michael Mihir Sarker went to England for his theological studies.

  • 1988 Regional camp started with the initiative of Rangpur Bible Students Fellowship.

  • 1990 Mr. Michael Mihir Sarker came back to England and appointed the first National General Secretary.

  • 1991 National Camp organized at Lalmonirhat and at first night i.e., 14 October Mr. Michael Mihir Sarker died on road accident and Mr. Peter D. Mazumder appointed as an Acting General Secretary and Bob returned to England.

  • 1993 BSFB 20thAnniversary has been celebrated.

  • 1998 The Silver Jubilee of BSFB was been celebrated. Mr. Peter D. Mazumder and his family went to Kerala, India for his theological studies Master of Divinity (M. Div) and Mr. Shyamal Dhar was appointed Acting General Secretary while Peter was in India.

  • 2001 Mr. Peter D Mazumder and his family returned from India after successfully completion of his theological studies.

  • 2002 Rev Peter D Mazumder has been ordained Pastor of his denomination.

  • 2005 Living Water Center’s one acre of land has been purchased at Ashulia, Savar, Dhaka.

  • 2009 The foundation was laid for the Living Water Centre.

  • 2011 BSFB Rajshahi Regional office 49 decimal of Land has been purchased at Joypurhat city.

  • 2013 BSFB Khulna Regional office 10 decimal of land has been purchased at Khulna city.

  • 2013 Rev. Robert Francis Cutler (Bob) visited from England to speak at National Camp at Khulna. Also the Living Water Centre was officially inaugurated on 25 October by Rev Robert Francis Cutler (Bob)

  • 1974 to 1991 the 9 affiliated city Bible Study groups had been established and from 1992 to 2019 we are continuing the work and have successfully established 106 Bible Study Groups having regular weekly Bible Study under the Supervision of 10 qualified staff workers.
